CICIAMS COMMITTEE ON THE FAMILY

supports pro-life organizations on the family including teaching of natural regulation of fertility

ESTABLISHMENT

The Family Committee was formed at the 2004 General Council Meeting held in Lourdes in Nov 3-6 Implemented at the Executive Board Meeting in Cape Cod, USA April 16-17 2005

The Committee’s primary task is to promote “Family” and “Life”

 

OBJECTIVES

To promote respect for human life in all its phases in accordance with the teachings of the Church.

To promote understanding and respect for marriage and family life.

To provide support and co-ordinate the efforts of CICAMS four regions on family life activities.

METHOD

The Committee can call upon a group of experts in disciplines related to the family and the defense of  life for their collaboration.

 Others can be sought to assist according to need  and circumstances.

The work of the Committee is carried out by CICIAMS Members in their respective countries

The Committee meets every six months or whenever directed by CICIAMS Executive Board Members

COLLABORATION

The Committee collaborates with thePontifical Council for the Family / John Paul II College /Insitutes

The Committee maintains contact with the bishops in areas of pastoral care of the family.

The Committee co-ordinates family life activities in CICIAMS Regional Secretariats of

Africa, Asia, Europe and North America

The Committee collaborates the activities of Catholic and non Catholic NGOs and movements for the family inthe defense of life
