To promote understanding and respect for marriage and family life. To provide support and co-ordinate the efforts of CICAMS in regions on family life activities. METHOD The Committee can call upon a group of experts in disciplines related to the family and the defense of life for their collaboration.  Others can be sought to assist according to need and circumstances. The work of the Committee is carried out by CICIAMS Members in their respective countries The Committee meets every six months or whenever directed by CICIAMS Executive Board Members COLLABORATION The Committee collaborates with the Pontifical Council for the Family / John Paul II College /Insitutes The Committee maintains contact with the bishops in areas of pastoral care of the family.
